Ingredients
For the burger:
- 2 Wagyu beef patties (go big or go home)
- 2 free-range eggs
- 2 Hirata (bao) buns or toasted brioche buns
- Shredded Chinese cabbage
- Furikake (for that umami crunch)
- Teriyaki sauce (because flavor is everything)
- Butter (for the eggs, of course)
For the teriyaki glaze:
- 60ml aged soy sauce
- 20ml Mirin
- 75g Okinawan sugar
- 15ml rice vinegar
- 1 finely diced garlic clove
- A thumbnail-sized piece of fresh ginger, finely diced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornflour mixed with cold water
Method
- Make the Teriyaki Sauce: In a saucepan, bring all ingredients (except the oil and cornflour) to a simmer. Once the sugar dissolves, whisk in the cornflour mixture, remove from heat, and stir in the sesame oil. Let it rest.
- Cook the Burgers: Fire up a hot pan or BBQ grill. Sear the Wagyu patties for about 5–6 minutes, basting them with their own rendered fat. Juicy is the goal here.
- Fry the Eggs: Melt butter in a pan and fry the eggs until just set. A slightly runny yolk is ideal—it’s nature’s best sauce.
- Assemble: Reheat the Hirata or brioche buns, spoon a little teriyaki sauce on the base, add shredded cabbage, place the burger on top, crown it with a fried egg, sprinkle furikake for the final flourish, and cap it off with the top bun.
To serve, pair it with a light, chilled Japanese beer—preferably a Sapporo—for the full experience.

Wagyu Beef Burger: Nikmat di Setiap Gigitan

Tapi, apakah burger Wagyu memang se-hype itu? Jawabannya: 100% iya.
Resep: Perpaduan Rasa Timur & Barat
Bahan-bahan
Untuk burger:
- 2 patty daging Wagyu (karena kalau mau mewah, sekalian saja!)
- 2 telur ayam kampung
- Kol Cina, diiris halus
- Furikake (biar ada crunch dan rasa umami)
- Saus teriyaki (karena rasa itu segalanya)
- Mentega (untuk menggoreng telur, tentu saja)
Untuk saus teriyaki:
- 60ml kecap asin Jepang (aged soy sauce)
- 20ml Mirin
- 75g gula Okinawa
- 15ml cuka beras
- 1 siung bawang putih, cincang halus
- Jahe segar seukuran kuku jempol, cincang halus
- 1 sdt minyak wijen
- 1 sdt tepung maizena dicampur dengan sedikit air dingin
Cara Memasak
Susun Burger-nya:
- Panaskan kembali roti Hirata/brioche.
- Olesi dasar roti dengan saus teriyaki.
- Tambahkan irisan kol Cina.
